We have recently re-opened after a complete refurbishment of what was The Alex Restaurant, creating an informal all day eatery, re-branded as The Alex Brasserie. The menu is intended to be versatile and friendly as well as enticing - from a light lunch with friends (grilled skate wing, caper butter, new pots and green beans) to a mid afternoon or pre-theatre snack (charcuterie platter of cured and smoked meats with cornichons, smoked horseradish mayo and organic baguette) or a full evening blow out (oysters and champagne followed by char grilled fillet steak with a choice of chef's sauces, frites and house green salad). Head chef Preston Bloom complements the menu with daily specials on our blackboards sourced mostly from Felixstowe's fresh catch of the day. You are also welcome to pop up and have a coffee or drink whilst enjoying the fantastic sea view.
In order to provide quality and consistency we are open 5 days a week (times as above) and to generate a buzzy atmosphere and cater more readily at busy times you don't need to book as we operate a "greet and seat" policy. Should there be a wait at peak times you are welcome to order drinks and appetizers in the bar area whilst perusing the menu and enjoying the theatre of busy chefs hard at work! However - since opening and listening to your comments we have reviewed our "no need to book" policy and will now take some bookings for parties of 6 to 16 to accommodate your special occasions and to provide surety for larger parties. Please call Emma (during opening times) with your booking enquires.
